The following steps will show you how to pair your BridgeU student account and Common App applicant accounts. Completing this process will allow you to add Common App universities and colleges to your BridgeU Applications list. Pairing your accounts also ensures that information, such as your selected application deadline, is consistent across both platforms.
To begin the pairing process, you will first need to have a Common App account. If you haven’t created one yet, you can register for an account here
IMPORTANT: Do not invite any counselor or teacher recommenders through your Common App account directly. If you have already invited recommenders in your Common App account, please remove these from your account before you pair your Common App account with your BridgeU account.
Step 1: Log into your BridgeU account and click your name > Profile
Step 2: In your Profile page, click Pair your Common App account which will prompt a pop-up on the screen. If you’ve already registered for your Common App account, you can click the proceed to Common App button which will direct you to the login page on Common App. If you do not have a Common App account yet, you can register for one here.
Step 3: You will be directed to the login page on Common App to sign in using your Common App credentials. Once you’ve successfully logged in, confirm the terms and conditions by checking the I Agree box and click the Connect button. You will then be redirected back to your BridgeU account.
Step 4: You will see that your Common App and BridgeU accounts are now paired and your Common App ID (CAID) will be visible at the top of your profile page
Step 5: Ensure that your Common App ID (CAID) matches the one on your Common App account. If the Common App ID’s do not match, log out of your Common App account and log in again making sure you use the same Common App credentials that you used during the pairing process in Step 3.
Step 6: Navigate to the Common App tab > Education section where you will see that your school name, postal address and the CEEB code have been automatically filled out for you. If you notice that the CEEB code or school details are incorrect, please contact your school counsellor for the correct details.
Step 7: You can now start adding colleges to your My Colleges section and they will automatically show in your applications list on BridgeU!
Congratulations! You’ve now successfully paired your Common App and BridgeU accounts.
